hi maggie...... I think u should wait to have it done only if neccasary. If ur breast are giving you pain or heath problems then u should think about having it done,but other wise it would be tottally up to u.

Usually, nipples must be moved, but I guess it also depends on the current size of your breast.

I am 5'2 about 123 pounds. I had a reduction going from a 38 DD to a 36 C and am VERY happy. I would do it over in a heart beat. The scars arn't that bad. Something you just have to deal with. The good side of the surgery out weighs the bad, no question about it.

For the teenagers who have posted about breast size: you will not grow to be proud of your size, you'll hate it just as much in ten years as you do now. I had really big boobs by the time I was 14 and was always being teased about it. Finally, when I was 35 I had surgery. I wish I'd had it done a lot sooner. I am 5 "4 and VERY small boned. I wore a 32G (or 32 DDD in America). I looked ridiculous. People saw my breasts, not me. Men could be gross about it. My clothes looked wierd. I wore things that were way too hot in the summer in order to cover up.
Having said that, it's tricky to have it done when you are a younger teen as your boobs may be still planning on growing. Bastards! So if you do go ahead with it, have them made smaller than you would have intended just in case. Also when you grow up, pregnancy will likely make them grow again. Mine did and they never shrunk. Unfortunetely I had the surgery done between my two pregnancies and they have now gone to a 34D and I hate them and am considering having them done again!
My scarring is VERY minimal. Unless you peer underneath you can't see the scars, including around the nipple. I had them done 8 years ago. Now some people's scars can be bad apparently, but not everyone's are.
I'll just repeat, I wish I'd had it done years earlier. It was life-changing. I never realised how much time I spent worrying about how I looked. Mine were covered by insurance as I played up the pain aspect. Go on about that and see it will be paid for. And start talking to your mums now as you could likely have it done by 16 or 17.
